Quintessa's design is absolutely hideous. Doesn't help that she's an extremely lame villain. On the other hand though, I do think the Bayverse went hard on some of the other villain designs, my personal favorites being Barricade's 2007 design, Shockwave (regardless of the character, he looks cool), Bonecrusher, and ESPECIALLY Blackout.

thank you, sir, your wisdom of truth would be valuable for the alternative Transformers series in punishing the relatable characters before they really do their crimes, such as exiling all the bad influences from the Autobots and the Cybertron, removing their citizenship to live inside Unicron for life.

Admittedly, i came in VERY late on the IDW line...but im glad i made it. I think i enjoyed this series a bit more than most...understanding the last 4 issues are essentially crap. I have often wondered what it was that Powel wrote that Toho disapproved of that made him bail after issue 8. I realky liked the satirical tone of Powel's issues. Great overview.

The Point-One-Precentors really were just another example of IDW not understanding Transfomers. Grimlock was powerful because he was a DINOBOT, not because he had a mutant spark. Triple-changers are powerful because of their rare T-Cogs that allows for an extra alt-mode. Same with Sixshot, he's powerful because he has six-modes. Optimus is powerful because he was rebuilt by Alpha Trion AND has the Matrix of Leadership. Ultra Magnus is powerful because he combines with his trailer to super robot mode. It's the TECHNOLOGY that makes them stronger, like being a Headmaster, Targetmaster, Powermaster or Cityformer. The only character that really qualifies as a having a mutant spark, is Starscream. His spark lived even after death. You could argue that characters with a Mitotic Spark would qualify. In which case Sky-Lynx, Overlord and Duo-Con type Transformers would be. In Beast Wars, only Rampage really qualifies, as his mutant spark allowed him to regenerate any battle damage. Beast Wars Neo Magmatron has a Mitotic Spark as the only Trio-Con.

Personally, I think they chose to focus on the comedy moments in the first trailer to get the general audience hooked, mainly kids! Which is a good chunk of the demographic, so it makes sense in that aspect. However, I feel that the next trailer or a few trailers later on might start to focus more some of the possible darker moments to then try and appeal to older fans, while still trying to be ok for kids as well! Regardless though, I’m definitely gonna go watch the movie because not only is it transformers, it’s the FIRST FULLY ANIMATED TRANSFORMERS MOVIE IN THEATERS SINCE THE 1986 MOVIE! As an animation fan, I feel I need to go see it to support animation! And it does look a bit weird, I admit. But I think they did the best they could with mixing the live action aesthetic with a more simplified look! I’m excited!

7:23 Oh boy… you just opened Pandora’s box! I have billions of “first encounters of the Transformers kind” moments to draw from in my life! I’m gonna finish watching this vid, but afterwards, I’m gonna unleash my entire Transformers backstory! Update: video is over! Now… My first intro to Transformers ever, was from an old toy of G2 Combaticon Vortex that my older brothers had that I tended to find in my little toy boxes and containers and stuff in the living room, and this was before I knew what Transformers were, and Vortex was always mis-transformed. So it always looked like a crashed Helicopter but with all the parts still attached in weird ways! Second intro was from a commercial for the Playskool Transformers Go-Bots toyline! This was when I was finally introduced to the concept of Transformers! Third intro was with a Burger King or McDonald’s toy of Hotshot from Transformers Armada! Fourth was from a small Go-Bot toy of REV and Hotshot from 2001 Robots in disguise I got as a prize from a hospital checkup! Fifth, Autobot Jazz from the 2007 movie was the first TF toy I picked out myself from Target, and the movie was my first intro to the story and lore of the Transformers, followed closely by Transformers Animated, and the ‘86 animated movie, which because I was not familiar with the original cartoon, was pretty confusing imo! Now I want to see it since I have the full OG series on dvd! So yeah, took quite a while to get me as interested with the transformers as I am now, beyond just the concept of cool cars that turn into cool robots! And you can also thank Chris McFeely for helping me to understand “the basics” on all the different media and how they all connect, or more-so, coexist alongside each other without necessarily needing to be actually part of the same universe…minus the aligned continuity, which I think then gave way to the original concept of multiple transformers stories set in their own universes!

Waspinator vs Explosives (Beast Wars) Tow-Line vs Illegally parked cars (RID 2001) Ratchet vs Lockdown (Animated) Bumblebee vs Wasp, Longarm/Shockwave, or Blitzwing (Animated) Possibly just Decepticon leadership from Starscream, Shockwave, Straxus, and Ratbat all seeking to gain leadership over Megatron.

Mentioned the DC crossover but failed to show the epic art that was made for it to promote the idea. Green lantern Optimus is a must see.

I'd love to see a Combiner eother made up of G1 Megatron, Beast Wars Megatron, Unicron-Trilogy Megatron, Prime Megatron and IDW Megatron or Megatron, Deathsaurus, Straxus, Overlord and Starscream. Neither would work due to all the clashing egos but the thought is cool.
